Wk0 vs Wk8 FitQuestI first approached Gretchen for nutrition coaching because I found her relatable.  Here was a fellow mom approaching nutrition in a pragmatic way and achieving the goals that I hoped to achieve.  As I started to work with Gretchen, I soon learned that, above all else, she is a true professional.  She is, of course, very knowledgeable in the area of fitness nutrition, but her commitment to her clients goes beyond her knowledge base.  Gretchen is always available to provide guidance or motivation.  Her response time is incredibly quick and her words are reassuring.  And she gets results!

My personal goal was to shed a few unwanted pounds and to unveil the muscle beneath.  I hoped to follow this “cut” with a reverse diet, similar to what Gretchen herself demonstrated on her blog and Instagram account.  I am thrilled with the results of my cut, which we chose to end after 8 weeks, and am now 2 weeks into a reverse diet.  I look forward to continuing to work with Gretchen!

S. P. Testimonial“I came to Gretchen Tseng looking for help in getting my eating situated. After 3 years of competing in figure competitions and having a 3rd child, I had allowed my relationship with food to get weird. I continued to work out hard, but had stopped seeing the results I was used to. The main reason for the lack of results was because I was eating less than 1000 calories per day.  Enter Gretchen.  

I explained my situation to her and she suggested a Reverse Diet over 20 weeks. I would check in weekly with measurements and pictures (in a swimsuit…ugh…) and she would change my macro plan accordingly. I have to say I was skeptical that eating MORE would help me with increased intensity in my workouts while helping to drop the fluff that had developed around my midsection, but I was willing to give it a try.


I am 5’9” and started out at 163lbs. I finished my plan at 157lbs. And while that isn’t as large a weight loss as others, I think it is amazing. I increased my calories from under 1000 per day to 1450 (and I should be closer to 2000, but I was needing to work on my protein intake!) and I was killing it in my workouts! I had several PR’s in the 5K races I did and my strength increased exponentially.  I felt so much better, my clothes were fitting better and I was even sleeping better.  

I’m wasn’t a perfect student, by any stretch, but I did give it a great try and I’m sold.  Gretchen is informative, understanding and has a great sense of humor!  She was

great when I would completely stuff my face with my entire pantry as well as gently

encouraging when my macros would be consistently low…something I struggled

with each week. Now that I’m done with my plan, I am going to take what I’ve learned and continue on, confident that I’ll be able to increase my macros to levels that will fuel my body and help me be the most healthy person I can be.
