  3. Gret,

apparently there’s been some crazy goings on in China/Taiwan with some sort of toxic thickening agent that’s been used in a variety of sauces… so here’s my question to you – how do we make all the fabulous chili sauces, black bean sauces, hoisin sauces, etc. for Chinese cooking? (I’ve got the question out to my momma, too, but wanted to see if you also had a solution!)
    thanks!

  4. Oh my goodness…I would be lost without those sauces. I buy some that are gluten free for Liesel. Maybe we will be limited to the more specialized GFree sauces (not produced in China) for a while. Let me know what your mama digs-up.

    HI,
I’m an active vegan mother of three, and I love your website! I subscribe, and I’ve gotten so many great tips and recipes. In regards to your recent post on water detoxing, I’m wondering about your opinions of other natural detoxes? I recently purchased an all natural, vegan 5-day detox cleanse, but I have not done it yet because I’m wondering about any negative side effects it may have on my body (could it negatively affect my metabolism due to the low number of calories?).
    Thanks!

    • Hi! Thank so much for the compliments.
With regards to the detox, I have done many safe detox plans that I found to be beneficial. That being said, I do not know what your current medical condition is and always suggest running any detox programs by your doctor prior to starting. Which vegan detox kit did you purchase?
Also…detoxing is something that I find I can tailor to my particular needs at the time. If you feel that the detox may be too low calorie, there is nothing to say that you can’t up the calorie count by adding fresh fruits and veggies to the mix.
I have a friend who recently went on a detox of her own design by eating fresh fruits and veggies exclusively for 5 days and she said she felt great.

        Hi,
I purchased Kaeng Raeng – it’s actually a 6-day detox. I started it and tried adding fruit. However, I think there must be sugar or something else that I don’t eat in it because I had a very hard time getting to sleep and I never have that problem. Not sure this will work for me. . .Thanks for your thoughts!

      • I know that Alicia Silverstone has mentioned Kaeng Raeng on her blog. With regards to the sleeping issue, I don’t know the answer, but it could possible be a detox symptom. Bottom line, no one knows your body better than you do and you always need to trust your instincts. If you are not comfortable with the detox program you purchased, I would contact the company regarding a refund. Have a great evening!

I’m looking for a fat free chili. Do you have?

  7. It was a great opportunity having your blog for this month’s SRC. I hope you haven’t ahrd feelings regarding my taste preference for thicker dressing. I fully intend to come back and try your salsa fresca. Mmmmm.

  8. Hi. I just wanted to say that I love your website. Especially love the post about your disney cruise. I was actualy crying towards the end. I have been a vegan, off and on for 8 years. I have since decided to stay vegan. The benefits are so obvious. I have been raising my children vegan since birth and have feared going on vacation because of the food issue. You have given me a way!! Thanks!

I just happened across “the stevia myth” post and I’m so glad I did. I made a huge push to remove all sugar from my diet in the last 2 years, which I replaced with stevia. I’ve found it impossible to loose weight, while in a calorie deficit, doing low carb. I’ve gain weight instead of lost it, I’ve also loss muscle mass which frustrates me with out much I weight train. I am going to remove stevia from my diet to see if it is the cause of my lack of results. I appreciate someone speaking up and sharing their experience with stevia.

    Hi,
Iā€™m looking to get a blood work up and evaluation. I am bombarded with rapid growing kidney stones, an enlarged prostate, and general run down most of the time. I need some help.
