CLEANSE FOOD LOG – Day 3

Last night after posting my food log I hit my first wall.  It was a mini wall, but a wall nonetheless.  About an hour after eating my bowl of berries I started craving THESE crunchy lightly salted crackers…I love those things.  But, after repeating the mantra, “This too shall pass” a few times in my head, it did pass and I didn’t give into the craving.

So, let’s get to my food log for day 3.

WEDNESDAY

  • 7:oo am – Large glass of water
  • 8:30 am – Bowl of sliced Fuji apple, sliced pear, a sliced banana, and pomegranate seeds.  I then dusted the bowl of fruit with Saigon cinnamon (pictured above).
  • 9:30 am – 10:30am – Pilates reformer class
  • 10:30 am – a quart bag filled to the brim with baby carrots, sliced red and orange bell peppers, and celery
  • 12:45 pm – Big Disneyland-sized spear of pineapple
  • 1:00 pm – A serving of the stir-fry I made yesterday (click HERE for details)
  • 2:15 pm – Already hungry again, so making a chocolate mint smoothie (water, 1/2 sweet potato, 1/2 of a zucchini, handful of spinach, handful of fresh mint, cocoa powder, vanilla creme stevia, small frozen banana, ice…about half the size of the smoothie I made yesterday).
  • 4:45 pm – Snacked on some nori and had 24 ounces of cold water with one scoop of NanoGreens.
  • 6:15 pm – A bowl of veggie soup (click HERE for details) and two small ears of roasted corn sprinkled with Chile con Limon.
  • 8:30 pm – Planning on having a bowl of raspberries, blueberries, and sliced banana.  If I get hungry afterward I plan on having some herbal tea.

I am off to get my kiddos ready for bed.  I am feeling really good and have not been experiencing any big cravings today.

Youre doing so well! I usually only last about 2 days on a cleanse and then I give in :/. I would love to do a week or two cleanse.

  2. grettie – I am loving hearing about your daily eating! I don’t know how you’re doing this? How is Tony hanging in there? Matt has started some sort of South Beach diet for 2 weeks… which, if anything, has me thinking about how much bread product we eat… anyhow… keep on keepin’ on my dear! xoxo

    • Tony is actually doing really well, though his main complaint is that he is craving something that he can’t put his finger on. He keeps saying he wants something “savory,” but based on what he is saying it sounds more to me like he is wanting something dense to eat. I actually think he isn’t eating enough. I keep trying to get him to bring a lunch pack filled with food, but he isn’t interested in doing that. He did come home between meetings tonight and eat some corn and soup. I have to say that I am really proud of him!

Becky & I are doing this also. We are finding that even though we can eat anytime….when we get hungry, we are really hungry. Had tomato soup today and that felt good on the tummy. We have done many stir frys and I find it challenging just keeping up on cooking and cleaning. We do have the food all prepped so that helps to eat right. I love going back to your past recipes to help spruce up my meals. So far we are 2 days in. We feel good and realize we just don’t eat enough veggies in our normal diet.

    • Yay! This makes me so happy!!! I know…we could all do with more veggies. When you eat this way the food tends to digest more quickly and yep, that tends to make you hungry more quickly too. The great news is that during a cleanse like this your body does not need to waste too much energy digesting your food, so that frees-up the extra energy for repairing your body.

Cleanses are great because they are the perfect opportunity to have a reset and realize how we can make our normal day-to-day eating habits better. Whenever I do a cleanse it seems to make my eating habits even better post-cleanse. Keep me updated with how you are doing.

  4. Cleanse or not all the food you describe sounds good! Keep strong and repeating your mantra!!
