My favorite place to vacation in the U.S. is in my home state of Michigan. As a vegetarian I’ve had the good fortune (and sometimes the misfortune!) of hunting down amazing diamond-in-the-rough restaurants. Now I know where to go anywhere in the state. But that is just the icing on a state that is one of the most beautiful, in my opinion. Along lake Michigan, or in the Upper Peninsula, on Mackinac Island, or in the forests of central Michigan, you’ll find some of the most amazing views, sunsets and people!
